Issue/Introduction

Spectrum Discover Connections not connecting device models as expected. Verified the devices (Cisco) in question have the proper information in the Cisco Discovery Protocol (CDP) table. However, they do not get connected as expected. Right mouse click on one device model and select "Reconfiguration -> Discover Connections" from the menu.

Cause

Discovery Protocol Tables set to "No" in the Auto Discovery Control -> Modeling and Protocol Options subview in the Information tab of the VNM model.

Resolution

Set Discovery Protocol Tables to "Yes" in the Auto Discovery Control -> Modeling and Protocol Options subview in the Information tab of the VNM model.

 Discovery Protocol Tables

Determines whether Discovery uses the Discovery Protocol tables when mapping device connectivity. Supported discovery protocols include Cisco, Nortel, Cabletron Switch, Extreme, Alcatel, Foundry, and Link Layer.

Default: Enabled
