Issue/Introduction

In CA Asset Portfolio Management, we are unable to synchronize devices from CA Software Asset Manager to CA Asset Portfolio Management.

 

The import driver is not running correctly.  The import driver.log file shows the following error:

Unhandled exception: System.IO.FileNotFoundException: could not load file or assembly 'log4net'

 

The event viewer, windows application logs displays the error: 

Hourly: Event ID 1000, Application Error 
Faulting application name: ImportDriver.exe, version: 14.1.2.292, time stamp: 0x582c240b 
Faulting module name: KERNELBASE.dll, version: 6.1.7601.23569, time stamp: 0x57f7bc1f 
Exception code: 0xe0434352 
Faulting application path: D:\Program Files (x86)\CA\ITAM\Import Driver\ImportDriver.exe 

Cause

The log4net.dll file was missing from the \CA\ITAM\Import Driver directory. 

Environment

CA Asset Portfolio Management 14.1

Resolution

Copied the log4net.dll from another APM server.

Both servers were at the same APM 14.1 patch level.
