Issue/Introduction

When running a Datacom Multi-User (MUF) with the startup option SYSOUT specified, PXX snaps, diagnostics, and traces are written to JES output classes instead of to the PXX data set.

The SYSOUT written to is PXXML, PXXCBS, PXXSQL, PXXDD, or PXXDST depending on the diagnostic or trace.

What is the command to reset or clear any of these Datacom PXX SYSOUT classes?

Environment

z/OS

Resolution

To clear any of the SYSOUTs during MUF execution, use

DBUTLTY COMM function

or

console command CLRML, CLRCBS, CLRSQL, CLRDD, or CLRDST to clear the associated PXXML, PXXCBS, PXXSQL, PXXDD, or PXXDST.

Additional Information

Refer to Datacom Core - 15.1 section "SYSOUT" on directing PXX snaps, diagnostic, and traces in z/OS.

Refer to section "COMM CLRnnn (Reset Alternate Output Data Sets)" to reset and create new SYSOUT files.
