Issue/Introduction

Can you change an existing Top Secret for z/OS TYPE(USER) acid to a TYPE(LSCA) acid and allow the user to continue using the current password until the normal expiration date?

Environment

Release: TOPSEC00200-15-Top Secret-Security
Component:

Resolution

You can issue the MOVE command to change a TYPE(USER) to TYPE(LSCA):

TSS MOVE(acid) TYPE(LSCA)

NOTE: You need to use the MSCA acid to issue this command.

Then you will need to manually administer the SCOPE, ZONES, and ADMINISTRATION AUTHORITIES
using the TSS ADMIN(xxxx) command.

The password, expiration date and the User Name will all stay the same for the id.
