Issue/Introduction

We use different language types within CA-Librarian/CCF to identify how a program should be compiled. We need to eliminate one of those language types from CCF and change all of the associated CCF control records.

Environment

Release:
Component: C21E

Resolution

First, delete the obsolete language type from the CCF system by using the option 12.5 (Administrator:Language Definition Table).
Once this language type is deleted, it can no longer be associated with source code members. Next, it is necessary to alter the stored records in CCF that retain the member's language type. These records are stored in the History Master File. By using the CA-Librarian batch -EDIT function, a global edit/change can be done against all records maintained in the History Master File to reflect the new language type. Detailed information and sample -EDIT commands can be found in the CA-Librarian Batch User Guide.
