If an error does occur, usually it causes immediate termination of the application. In most cases, the problem is either a user error (such as misspelling the data set name in the CSLDSN operand), or an environmental error in the operating system. In cases like these, simply correct the specification, and resubmit the job.
To help identify the problem, the following message is written to the JES USER LOG:
CAPC018E DYNAMIC ALLOCATION FAILED FOR DDNAME dddddddd, RC=nn, S99INFO=hhhh, S99ERROR=hhhh.
where:
dddddddd | is the ddname associated with the failure. |
nn | is the return code from SVC99. |
hhhh | is two fields containing informational reason codes about the error encountered during SVC 99 processing. |
Please refer to the following two IBM publications for an interpretation of these SVC 99 error codes.
