Release: Component: BPORTL
Resolution
To access a remote machine through MSRDC, a web client has to be downloaded to the user's machine. The BrightStor portal has a mechanism that insures delivery of a proper client upon initial access. Certain settings must be in place before this can happen.
Certain browser settings have to be enabled to properly install the web-based MSRDC client.
The following ActiveX controls have to be set to prompt or enable:
Download Signed ActiveX controls.
Download Unsigned ActiveX controls.
Initialize and script ActiveX controls not marked as safe.
Run ActiveX controls and plug-ins.
Script ActiveX controls marked safe for scripting.
The miscellaneous option "Access data sources across the domains" has to be enabled.
After the proper browser settings are enabled, the web-based MSRDC installation and access will proceed:
The user is prompted to install a cab file containing the MSRDC client.
The user is prompted to run ActiveX control initializing the session.
The login screen of the target node is displayed:
Upon authenticating, the user can log in and access the desired application.
