Can the product make use of any media devices attached to the mainframe?

Resolution

You can use any Tape or Disk device that currently has an IOGEN entry defined to your mainframe. Standard devices such as TAPE, DISK, 3480, etc. can be specified as such. Other devices such as 9840 and 3590 will need to have a DYN path specified in the BrightStor product. This is discussed at greater length in Appendix D of the BrightStor Disk Backup and Restore for UNIX System Services Users Guide.
