Did you know that SOLVE:Operations has message burst protection to prevent your system being flooded by runaway applications issuing error messages in a loop?
In the AOMQUEUES parameter group you can specify the message frequency threshold and the threshold window.
Message Frequency Threshold sets the maximum number of times a message can be processed in the time period specified in the Threshold Window field.
Threshold Window sets the time period for message burst suppression processing.
The first message that exceeds the threshold becomes an NRD message and additional messages are not processed. The NRD message is removed if no more messages are received in the time period specified by Threshold Window.
For example, if the limit is 50 messages and the threshold window is two seconds then a message burst of 100 messages in three seconds would cause the first 50 messages to be processed. The 51st message becomes an NRD message. When the last message arrives at the end of three seconds the NRD message remains for another two seconds before being removed.
