Issue/Introduction

SYSPARM Operands Set in Customizer Parameter Groups

Environment

Release: UNSMON00200-11-Network and Systems Management-NetMaster Option
Component:

Resolution

Unicenter NetMaster, NetSpy and SOLVE make use of the Customizer facility which allows users to easily review and specify their region parameters. Region parameters are categorized into Parameter Groups under Customizer which can be accessed by entering the shortcut /PARMS from any command prompt.

Many Parameter Groups issue the SYSPARMS command which internally defines many of the products run-time characteristics. Prior to the delivery of Customizer, the setting of SYSPARMS was performed by coding SYSPARMS commands in the NMINIT or NMREADY initialization procedures.

Some organizations have continued to use NMINIT and NMREADY to set SYSPARMS. However, if a specific SYSPARM operand is also issued by Customizer, the user will find their SYSPARM setting to be overridden. The following table lists all SYSPARMS operands that are issued by Customizer. If you currently define any of these SYSPARMS in NMINIT, NMREADY, or any other in-house NCL procedure, you should remove these definitions and set the SYSPARM through the relevant Customizer Parameter Group.

Note: A number of these Parameter Groups are dependant on the licensing of particular product(s). Depending on the product you are licensed for, some may not appear on your product region.
