Issue/Introduction

Attempting to update a member in a Librarian Master file and getting the following message:

OUTPUT MODULE TOO LARGE TO PROCESS

Environment

 Release:   4.4

Resolution

This message indicates the member has hit the 255 physical block limit.  There are some immediate and long-term solutions to address this concern:

     1.  Delete one or more of the oldest archive levels.
(This is a temporary solution; the problem can reoccur again when additional updates are made.)

     2.  Decrease the number of Archive levels specified for the Master file
(This is a more permanent solution.)

     3.  Increase the blocksize of the Master file.
(This is a more permanent solution.)

     4.  Convert the master file to Wide Record Master File format.
(This is a permanent solution as Wide Record Master File members do not have a 255 physical block limit.)
