Datacom/AD Common Services COMMON SERVICES FOR Z/OS

Issue/Introduction

How to determine where the Version and Genlevel information on CAS9075I message is derived from as seen in CAS9 and ENF startup procs.

Resolution

  1. Go to the CA Common Services (CCS) CAW0LINK library and browse module CAS9GLVL, and do a find for string S910.

  2. Here you will find the name of the load module associated with the S910 component - S910CS9GLVL
  3. Each of the main components associated with CAIRIM and CAIENF have unique load modules. These component specific "GLVL" modules reside in the CAW0LOAD library
LMOD Component Name
CRRGLVL - CA-ENF/USS
CS9GLVL - CA-RIM/BASE
CW1GLVL - CA-ENF/BASE
CW3GLVL - CA-ENF/CICS
CW31LVL - CA-ENF/CICS SPAWN
CW4GLVL - CA-CCI/BASE
CW5GLVL - CA-ENF/DB2

If you browse these modules, you will see the component name and genlevel information where:

1500F000AW300

15 represents r15
F000 represents 15.0

1400E100AW300

14 represents r14
E100 represents 14.1

Additional Information

If you are not seeing the expected version or genlevel information, then:

  1. review the startup procs for potential STEPLIB concerns
  2. using available system tools, search linklist to determine where component specific load module is being loaded from
