What does the Librarian Access Method do and how to determine if it is active?
Release: All
Component: Librarian
CA-Librarian Access Method (LIB/AM) is an option providing a direct read-only interface between IBM language translators and CA-Librarian master files. LIB/AM allows members stored on a master file to be read as if they were members stored on a partitioned data set. LIB/AM is installed as a Z/OS subsystem.
To determine if the subsystem has been successfully initialized after a IPL or after running CAS9 proc the messages from CAIRIMnn will be displayed:
CAS9115I - INPUT: PRODUCT(CA-LIBRARIAN-PRD) VERSION(LJ43) INIT(LJ43INIT) LAMDT001I - Installation successful ===>> LAM002O LAM SUBSYSTEM SUCCESSFULLY INITIALIZED. LAM004O LAM RELEASE 4.x CA-LIBRARIAN SUBSYSTEM INITIALIZED CAS9130I - MODULE LJ43INIT COMPLETE, RC=00
To check which Subsystems are currently active, LAM, LAMx, and which initialization routine was run.
Use /D SSI from the master console or job CAIRIMU for list of SUBSYSTEMS.
