Issue/Introduction

Description

Normally the Harvest client/CA SCM client Help Menu -> About shows build version. Similarly, on the properties of bkrd.exe/hserver.exe/agntd.exe files, the File Version shows the build version, but in different format.

Solution

After installation of Windows Harvest 7.1 GA/P1/P2/SP1/SP2 or CA SCM r12 GA/FP1/FP2, only the build version information is kept. Usually we refer to them as patch-level-sets/patches (note: SP1 (or Service Pack1) is different from P1 (or Patch1)). So, the following mapping between Harvest build information and patch-level-set may be helpful to determine the Harvest patch-level-set.

1. On Harvest client/CA SCM client interface, Help -> About [see figure 1 below]

Build Version: 7.1.89 corresponds to R 7.1 GA
Build Version: 7.1.95 corresponds to R 7.1 P1
Build Version: 7.1.101 corresponds to R 7.1 P2
Build Version: 7.1.123 corresponds to R 7.1 SP1
Build Version: 7.1.134 corresponds to R 7.1 SP2
Build Version: 12.0.0.239 corresponds to R 12 GA
Build Version: 12.0.0.261 corresponds to R 12 FP1
Build Version: 12.0.0.279 corresponds to R 12 FP2

• For Harvest 7.1/CA SCM r12 broker and agent we could rely on the file version. Look at the properties of the file and look at the Version tab. File Version is listed there:

File version 7.101.89.0 corresponds to 7.1 GA
File version 7.101.95.0 corresponds to 7.1 P1
File version 7.101.101.0 corresponds to 7.1 P2
File version 7.101.123.0 corresponds to 7.1 SP1
File version 7.101.134.0 corresponds to 7.1 SP2
File version 12.0.239.0 corresponds to r12 GA
File version 12.0.261.0 corresponds to r12 FP1
File version 12.0.279.0 corresponds to r12 FP2 [see figure 2 below]

NOTE: If 7.1 P2 hserver.exe file version is 7.101.101.1, then there's a server side hotfix that was installed. (7.1 P2 HotFix1)

• We could also get the version information from Windows Control Panel -> Add/Remove Programs [make sure the Show Updates option is checked ON, see figure 3 below]
