When running jobs which allocate disk dataset on CA Dynam D pools, we may see CADD010W and CADD021D messages. This occurs even though there are volumes in the Dynam pool which would accomadate the allocation requested. What can be done to minimize this?

Issue/Introduction
Dynam D will issue messages for operator attention when an allocation cannot be satisfied in one extent. For example
CADD010W INSUFFICIENT DISK SPACE FILE=SORTOUT SYSCTL=806 DYND24 (11000). CADD021D OP-SPEC-FILE.OPCN (2) CRE=01 AUG 2007 EXP=08 AUG 2007 MAX=4688.
These CADD010W message indicates that the space requested is not available on the volume as a single extent. The CADD021D message permits the operator to direct Dynam D on how to proceed with allocation on this volume, another volume in the pool or another pool.
Resolution
To help in this situation, ensure that ROTATE=YES is specified on the COMPOOL record for the pool in question. Evaluate the space requested as primary space allocation in the extent or in the Dynam catalog and adjust as needed. Also, use DYNUTIL or another disk utility to remove unneeded files and consolidate freespace.
