CA Unicenter NSM Common Services COMMON SERVICES FOR Z/OS

Issue/Introduction

An error similar to the following is received when running UNICNTRL START ALL:

Error -->Windows Function Failed Function <StartService> Error <1069> Line <615

Resolution

Error codes 1069 and 1068 come from the Windows operating system itself, not from Unicenter.

A 1069 error means that there is a logon problem with the account used to start the Unicenter service. By default, this account is called "caunint". A logon error can occur if the account has an expired password, is locked out, or is lacking the "Logon as a Service" User Right.

A 1068 error means the Unicenter service has a dependency problem. The Unicenter service depends on the CCI Services (Transport and either NR-Server or NR-Client) and the Database service (Ingres in r11.0 and MSSQL in r11.1/r11.2). A dependency error will occur if any of the services that Unicenter depends on cannot be started.
