Issue/Introduction

Description:

EKG keys are most often used for Disaster Recovery. The keys will work on any CPU and allow any CA product to run without LMPKEY warning messages.

An EKGKEY is valid for 10 days.

Solution:

There are 2 ways to activate an EKG keys.

  1. Using console commands.

    Release a pause in BG, respond 0 // EXEC CAIRIM,PARM='EKGP'

    You will receive this message ENTER EKG DEVICE CODE OR CANCEL TO ABORT.

    Respond 0 EKG(nnnnnnnn). Where EKG(nnnnnnnn) is the eight digit EKG device code.

  2. Batch

    Add the EKG key as the first uncommented control card in your CALMPKEY.A member.

    Use LIBR to catalog the member into your CACIS library.

    After adding the keys to CALMPKEY.A you may

    1. IPL

    2. Release a pause in BG, respond 0 // EXEC CAIRIM

    3. EXEC CAIRIM in Batch
