How to make case translation by CICS work for Ideal
Environment
Release: Ideal for Datacom
Resolution
Starting with MVS CICS release 3.2 and VSE CICS release 2.2, IBM introduced a feature that allowed CICS to handle case translation for CICS applications.
To make case translation by CICS work for Ideal, the following change must be made.
On the TYPETERM definitions UCTRAN must be set to TRANID. Specifying TYPETERM UCTRAN(TRANID) causes the tranid to be translated to uppercase; other input is translated according to what is specified for PROFILE UCTRAN.
On the profile definition associated with SCF-based transactions (IDEAL, DD) UCTRAN should be set to NO. This allows the terminal to run in mixed case mode.
