A PC Owner Started task abended with S052 and RC 512 on module NIPINITM

Cause

This problem relates to the operation of the PC owner program. It handles the communications between users and all data collectors executing on an Lpar.

If two PC owner tasks are started with the same PCSSID parameter value, an ABEND S052 is seen.

Resolution

Two PC tasks can not use the same SSID (PCSSID parameter in the JCL). This information can be found in the SYSVIEW® PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT OPTION FOR DB2 20 Guide

Program Call (PC) Owner, Troubleshooting.

In the Troubleshooting section above it states:

"If you start two PC owner tasks with the same PCSSID parameter value, you get an ABEND S052."

A careful review of this section is recommended to avoid this and other abends with this component.
