Issue/Introduction

Description:

I have Unicenter Network and Systems Management (NSM) r11.1 Atech services installed on a machine with CA Insight Database Performance Monitor Knowledge Agents running successfully, however when I attempt to install a proxy agent from the DVD, the proxy agent option is grayed out. How does the proxy agent determine if Unicenter NSM is installed?

Solution:

The option is greyed out because CA Database Command Center is not detecting Unicenter NSM on the machine. The software checks the following registry keys to determine of Unicenter NSM is installed:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \\SOFTWARE\\ComputerAssociates\\Unicenter TNG\\Registered Products\\Unicenter TNG\\SharedPath
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \\SOFTWARE\\ComputerAssociates\\CA-Unicenter/TNG\\CurrentVersion\\MajorVersion

version must be >=11

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \\SOFTWARE\\ComputerAssociates\\Unicenter TNG\\Registered Components\\Agent Technologies\\InstallPath
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \\SOFTWARE\\ComputerAssociates\\Unicenter TNG\\Registered Components\\Common Resource Packages Mibs\\InstallPath
