Plan Analyzer for DB2 for z/OS

Issue/Introduction

Is it possible to generate BIND, REBIND or FREE statements for a large list of packages or plans and run them in a batch job via Plan Analyzer for Db2 for z/OS (PPA).

Resolution

Yes. Use option #13, Plan/Package Utilities, to first generate a list of packages or plans. Use the top header fields PLAN and CREATOR to list plans or the bottom header fields COLLID
and PACKAGE to list packages. Once the list is generated, enter BIND, REBIND or FREEPLAN for plans or BINDPACK, REBINDPACK or FREEPACK for packages on the COMMAND
line to generate the BIND cards.

Next, on the PPA Batch Processor Card Display panel enter 'B' in the Mode field and hit ENTER. Now on the Batch Specification panel, provide a dataset name to which the BIND cards
will be written and hit ENTER. The BIND cards will now be written to this dataset by backing out to the Product Main Menu. Use this dataset as input to the Batch Processor to execute the binds.
