Issue/Introduction

Question:

What is the difference between pdm_backup and pdm_extract?

Answer:

pdm_backup backs up:

  • Data from the MDB Tables (Attached is the table list)

  • $NX_ROOT

    1. NX.env
    2. pdm_install.dat

  • $NX_ROOT/pdmconf/prev_version

  • $NX_ROOT/bopcfg/www/

    1. web.cfg
    2. Secondary web.cfg & web-director.cfg files if a secondary and web director are setup.

  • $NX_ROOT/fig/cfg/dataent.fmt

  • $NX_ROOT/site

    1. ddict.sch
    2. tblobj.cfg
    3. text_api.cfg
    4. config.properties

  • $NX_ROOT/site/cfg folder

  • $NX_ROOT/site/mods/ folder

NOTE: $NX_ROOT refers to the ServiceDesk installation directory path. For e.g. C:/Program Files/CA/Service Desk. This path may vary depending on the directory where you installed the ServiceDesk application.

pdm_extract ALL extracts just the data without backing up the files mentioned above.
