Policy server hanging with 'Socket error 24' (Legacy_Onyx KB Id: 220942)

Issue/Introduction

Description:

We are having problems with policy server auth process.
Auth service failes with the below messages, could you please let us know what is the fix for the problem.
[22/Oct/2005:10:28:34 -0500][6-E] Failed to accept client connection on TCP server socket. Socket error 24.
[22/Oct/2005:10:28:34 -0500][6-I] smservauth shutting down

Solution:

The socket 24 and shutdown issue, is indicative of a too small ulimit setting.
Increase the ulimit setting in smuser's .profile.
