Issue/Introduction

How to trace a specific ACID in Top Secret.

Environment

Cause

The Top Secret Sectrace is used to diagnose access problems for a specific user. This is the most common trace that Top Secret Support asks clients to obtain.

Resolution

SECTRACE COMMANDS:

TSS ADD(acid) TRACE
TSS MODIFY(SECTRACE(ACT,WTL))

*The trace is now activated on the system and the acid has the trace attribute.
*Recreate the problem.
*When finished recreating it is very important to turn the trace off and remove the trace attribute from the acid.

TSS MODIFY(SECTRACE(OFF))
TSS REMOVE(acid) TRACE

The trace will print to the syslog and each record starts with TSS-x, x can be one of many alphabetic characters, followed by one to five TSS-n records, n being the numeric values of 1, 2, 3 (optional), 4 and 5 (optional).

The trace is a text file and can be emailed.

Additional Information
