Issue/Introduction

We have one Windows executable JOB that when it runs from command line, it works fine. When we schedule it to run through CA ESP agent, it fails.

Environment

Component: Workload Automation-System Agent

Resolution

CA ESP System Agent for Windows works as a Service, it won't read the logon profile for the user specified in USER statement of the JOB definition when it switches to that user.
Therefore, the required environment for the JOB has not been set up correctly. As a workaround, you can:

  1. Put the executable in a .bat script.
  2. Put whole path with cmd.exe on CMDNAME, then the real executable on ARGS with /C before it.
