Description:
Having performed a typical install of an AutoSys Server with Bundled Ingres, the following are steps to properly remove AutoSys r11 and all its components.
Solution:
A Typical AutoSys r11 Server installation with Bundled Ingres will have installed the following:
- AutoSys (Scheduler, Application Server, Agent)
- Bundled Ingres
- Ca Common Services (Common Communications Interface (CCI), Distributed Intelligence Architecture (DIA), Dylan Socket Adapter (DSA))
- eIAM
- iGateway
- CA Socket Adapter
Here are steps to remove these components:
- Shut down AutoSys Services (Scheduler, Application Server, Agent)
(from the Administrator GUI or the Windows Services area)
- Log into the eIAM UI as EiamAdmin in 'Global' mode and unregister 'AutoSys' from the list of registered applications
- Start -> Alls Programs -> CA -> eTrust -> eTrust Embedded IAM -> Embedded eIAM UI
- Select application 'Global' and log in as user 'EiamAdmin'
- Select the 'Configure' tab
- Select UnicenterAutoSysJM from the list of applications on the left-hand column
- Select 'Unregister' on the right hand column
- Uninstall eIAM and iGateway
- Start->Control Panel->Add or Remove Programs
- Select CA eTrust Embedded Identity and Access Management and click "Change/Remove"
- You will be prompted "Do want to completely remove the selected application and all its features"? Select "Yes".
This automatically removes iGateway as well.
NOTE: You may still see iGateway listed in Add or Remove Programs. You need to close and reopen this list to refresh it.
If you click the "Remove" button under iGateway it will prompt you that it cannot remove a program that is not installed and it will remove it from the list.

- Select "CA Unicenter AutoSys Job Management" from the 'Add or Remove Programs list' and click "Change/Remove"
- You will have a choice of "Modify, Repair or Remove". Select Remove and click "Next"
- From the Product Removal Selection, select AutoSys and CCS (this will remove CCI, DIA and DSA) and click "Next"
- Review your selection, make a note of the uninstall log location and proceed to uninstall
NOTE: A reboot will be required at this point.
- Uninstall CA Socket Adapter
- Select "CA Socket Adapter" from the 'Add or Remove Programs list' and click "Change/Remove"
- When the Installshield Wizard opens click "Next"
- Make sure Product Installation is selected including Runtime Libraries and Admin Tools. Click "Next" and then "Uninstall"
- You will be prompted the following: "PATH exists on this system and has been modified since installation. Do you want to restore this environment variable?"
Select "Yes" - Click "Finish" when it is done.
NOTE: You may still see CA Socket Adapter listed in Add or Remove Programs. You need to close and reopen this list to refresh it or click "Remove" and it will tell you it has already been uninstalled and remove it from the list.
- Uninstall Bundled Ingres
- In the Windows Services area, stop the Ingres service
- Select "Ingres [EI]" from the 'Add or Remove Programs list' and click "Change/Remove"
- The InstallShield Wizard will open. Click "Next"
- You will have a choice of "Modify, Repair or Remove". Select Remove and click "Next"
- Click "Remove" to uninstall.
- If you have not stopped the Ingres services at this point it will prompt you to. Select Stop. You will get a new window showing the services stopping.
When it is done click "Exit" for the uninstaller to continue. - Click "Finish" when it's done
- Additional steps and notes
- You should delete OS users 'autosys' and 'nsmadmin' since they will no longer be in use
- You will still have the following directories:
C:\Program Files\CA\APPSW
C:\Program Files\CA\SharedComponents - You will still have the following Service: "CA License Client"
The above service and directories will remain and will be used by any future installations of AutoSys or other CA products.
