Issue/Introduction

Description

This document explains the steps to change the default session timeout value for Java Infoview. The default timeout value is 20 minutes.

Solution

1. Stop the Apache Tomcat server from the Central Configuration Manager. See Fig 1

• Open the web.xml file with a text editor present under the tomcat deployed location    Ex: C:\Program Files\CA\SC\CommonReporting\Tomcat\webapps\businessobjects\enterprise115\desktoplaunch\WEB-INF

• Search for the following section:
  
     <session-config>
        <session-timeout>20</session-timeout>  
      </session-config>

• Change the value between <session-timeout> to the number of minutes you require for the session to timeout.

• Save the web.xml.

• Start the Apache Tomcat server service from Central Configuration Manager.
