Issue/Introduction

Description:

If the size of the JBOSS log files become too large you can adjust JBOSS to limit the number of files and limit the size of each file.

Solution:

Please follow these procedures to modify JBOSS and limit the number of log files created and the size of each log file.

  1. Edit the following file

    <Installation Directory>\jboss-4.0.3SP1\conf\wrapper.conf

  2. Add the following two lines to the wrapper.conf file.

    wrapper.logfile.maxsize=4m <===
    wrapper.logfile.maxfiles=10 <=== The value set for wrapper.logfile.maxsize will limit the size of each log file. In the above example the maximum file size is set to 4 MB.

    The value set for wrapper.logfile.maxfiles will limit the number of log files created. In the above example the maximum number of files are set to 10.

  3. Remove the existing wrapper.log files

  4. Recycle JBOSS.

    Once JOBSS has been recycled the parameters set in the wrapper.conf file should be used.
