Issue/Introduction

We are seeing message "XCOMM0282I RC 08 FDBK 58 ON HISTORY FILE GET ON HISTORY FILE GET REQUEST" in the xcomlog of the XCOM STC. Our XCOMHIST and XCOMRRDS are configured for LSR support and are monitored by IBM's Star Tool. 

Environment

XCOM r12.0 for z/OS

Resolution

The XCOMHIST should not be using LSR. The only dataset that can use LSR is the XCOMRRDS and it is suggested that you use the supplied JCL to define the RRDS to LSR.

Both datasets must be excluded from Star Tool. 

 

Additional Information

Note: LSR is recommended only for installations with very high volumes of scheduled transfers that are being run concurrently. EXECUTE transfers do not use XCOMRRDS, thus installations running a high volume of TYPE=EXECUTE transfers do not benefit from using LSR.
