Issue/Introduction

Description:

When conducting the pre-requirement Common Services install for UWCC R.11 the following error is encountered.

Control Center: An error occurred while defining the CA Common Services for Unicenter Workload Control Center. Refer to log file for more details. Setup will terminate now.

The Common Services log indicates the following.

CCS for UWCC Install,
com.ca.uwcc.ccs.install.swing.actions.InitializeCCSAction, dbg, file
location D:\Catalog.UWCC\commoninstall/ccs\CRT/msvcr71.dll

CCS for UWCC Install,
com.ca.uwcc.ccs.install.swing.actions.InitializeCCSAction, dbg, loading
msvcr71 dll

CCS for UWCC Install,
com.ca.uwcc.ccs.install.swing.actions.InitializeCCSAction, err,
D:\Catalog.UWCC\commoninstall\ccs\crt\msvcr71.dll: %1 is not a valid

Solution:

Please consult the UWCC R.11 Support Matrix and verify the version of Windows upon which UWCC is being installed upon is of a supported / certified release.

msvcr71.dll is a Microsoft C Runtime Library and the error message that it is not a valid Win32 application is received when the version of Windows is not supported / certified.
