Issue/Introduction

Changing the SiteMinder super user password can be done one of two ways:

  1. Using the smreg command line tool.
  2. With the SiteMinder Policy Server Management Console (smconsole).

Environment

Release: All supported Policy Server versions
Component: SMPLC

Resolution

Using smreg tool:

  1. Ensure that the smreg utility is available at <policy_server_home>\bin. If the utility is not present, you can find it in the Policy Server installation media.
  2. Run "smreg -su <new password>"
     

Using the Policy Server Management Console:

  1. Open the the Policy Server Management Console.
  2. Click on the Super User tab.
  3. Enter old password.
  4. Enter new password and confirmation.
