Issue/Introduction

Description:

I ran CAS9 to install a subsystem for our CA product, but it seems the subsystem is not working correctly.
Is there any way to display the status of subsystems installed using CAS9/CAIRIM?

Solution:

You can use CAISUBU utility to display the status of the subsystems that have been installed by CAIRIM. CAISUBU verifies the current status of all CAIRIM installed subsystems, their subsystem control table address, and their program initialization programs, if any. Generally, output from CAISUBU will be as follows:

CAS9040I SUBSYSTEM SUMMARY:
CAS9002I
CAS9041I NAME SSCT ADDRESS STATUS INIT ROUTINE
CAS9042I subname @@@@@@@@ caistat initname
CAS9002I

When CAISUBU is run, the following output may appear:

CAS9011I NO CAI PRODUCT INTERFACES PRESENT

This output may mean that CAIRIM has not been run or has encountered an error or, if there are no products that install z/OS subsystems using CAIRIM, then this is a normal condition.

Refer to Administrator Guide for details on CAISUBU utility.
