Unable to install SiteMinder Policy Server due to error "libetpki2.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory'

Issue/Introduction

Description

I am trying to install SiteMinder Policy Server (R12 SP1 CR2) on Linux RH 5.

The installation shows the following error:

  Command failed.   ---------------   COMMAND: sh /tmp/495905.tmp/LoadRegKeys.sh   RETURN: 127   STDOUT:   STDERR: /tmp/495905.tmp/smreg: error while loading shared libraries:   libetpki2.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory 

The installation log shows the same error.

I have compared with Windows Installation, and noticed the difference: Windows has created siteminder/ETPKI directory, while Linux doesn't.

Solution

This issue is because there are some missing libraries in the linux server.

SiteMinder Policy Server needs the RHEL "Legacy Software Development" package.

Suggest contacting OS support to retrieve & install Legacy Software Development package
