How do I resolve the out of memory or heap memory exception error I am getting when using Web Reporter?

Issue/Introduction

Whenever you run any report containing large number of records, the Infoview displays only the first page of results. When you try accessing the next page, the report hangs for a long time. When you try to execute the query again, the Infoview takes very long time to execute the query and subsequently will not generate the report thus forcing you to log out and login to the infoview again.

The Infoview hangs due to Java exception error in the Java console and you get the following error:

  Exception in thread "AWT-EventQueue-2" java.lang.OutOfMemoryError:Java heap space

Resolution

To resolve the out of memory or heap memory exception error

1. Set the Java applet run-time parameters to proper virtual memory settings in Java Control Panel.
