While you get the error message during the install, leave the error box opened and check %temp% (user temp) on windows system. You should find two DSM install log files, TRC_Inst2_ITRM.log and DSMsetup.log. Save these log files before closing the install (as they're temporary). For this particular error, you should analyze DSMsetup.log. Try searching for the same error message in the log. As this is in an msi (windows installer) log format, you can use a third party analysis tool (such as WiLogUtl.exe) to analyze the file.
