Issue/Introduction

Description:

CADD074E JOB CANCELLED - ASAMAX EXCEEDED - FILE=DYNUTIL may happen when REORG files from DASD type 3380 to 3390 and the 3390 doesn't have enough contiguous space in the pool for all the extents of the file.

Solution:

Each extent backed up must be restored with the same size within the new file.

It is possible to run a REORG by specifying "VOL=" instead of "POOL=", if the volume specified has enough contiguous storage for all the extents.

Also, if ARFACTR is set to 100%, a message will be issued, when there is not enough space for the whole allocation. Action may then be taken to provide more space.

In 7.1 a new option CONCATEX is added which will allow multi-file extents to be REORD'ed as a single extent file.
