Does DADS Plus for CICS support the MVS MODIFY console command?

Resolution

The functions provided by DADS Plus for CICS on the ALLOCATION - DEALLOCATION REQUEST MENU can also be initiated from the MVS console using the MVS Modify command and the DADS DADA transaction. For details please see the DADS Plus for CICS User Guide Chapter Dynamic Allocation Facility under the heading Dynamic Allocation Using the MVS Console.

The format of the command is:

F jobname,DADA command,type,name.version,options

Examples:

1. To Deallocate a file with ddname PAYROLL in CICS region CICSPRDA use the following command:
   
   F CICSPRDA,DADA D,F,PAYROLL
   
2. To Allocate a file with ddname PAYROLL in CICS region CICSPRDA use the following command:
   
   F CICSPRDA,DADA A,F,PAYROLL
   
3. To Allocate the alternate dsn of a file with ddname MASTER1 in CICS region CICSPRDB use the following command:
   
   F CICSPRDB,DADA A,F,MASTER1.A
