Error while transferring package to central archive Unable to open file [package name].zip

Issue/Introduction

Editing a created archive package or superpackage in the Infrastructure Manager - after making edits and hitting the 'OK' button after making changes it produces this error:

"Error while transferring package to central archive

Unable to open file [package name].zip"

Environment

UIM 8.0+Infrastructure ManagerProbe Archive

Cause

Period character(s) "." are not allowed in package names

This problem may also be caused by other unsupported characters in the package name.

Resolution

Since there is no way to edit the package once it has a period character (".") in the package name, you will have to create a new package with a name that does not contain a period, or other unsupported character, in the package name.

Attempting to rename the package manually may or may not be successful.
