Issue/Introduction

This article outlines the specific Siebel fields supported for administration through the CA Identity Manager Siebel Connector, including mapping limitations and administrative capabilities for different object types.

Environment

Identity Manager 14.x

Resolution

Supported Field Types and Mapping
The Siebel connector supports the administration of single-valued fields only.

  • Requirement: Desired fields must first be mapped to an ETA attribute using the 'Mapping Table' tabs for the specific Object Type.
  • Restriction: Multi-valued fields (MVG) are not supported for administration via the connector.

Mapping Limits
Administrators can map a defined number of fields per object type:

  • Siebel User Accounts: Up to 20 fields can be mapped to user account attributes.
  • Other Siebel Objects: Up to 10 fields can be mapped for Positions, Responsibilities, Organizations, Views, and Internal Divisions.
    • Note: Attributes for Organizations and Views are read-only.

Administrative Capabilities

  • User Accounts, Positions, Divisions, and Responsibilities: Administrators can perform Explore, Create, Modify, Rename, and Delete operations.
  • Organizations, Views, and Lists of Values: Administrators are restricted to Explore operations only.

Supported User Account Types The connector only supports Siebel user accounts that contain a "User ID" field.

  • Incompatibility: Accounts of the "Person" type and other custom accounts lacking a "User ID" cannot be managed.
  • Reasoning: These accounts cannot be used for Siebel login, and therefore fall outside the scope of standard provisioning workflows.
