This document will show you how to determine the format of the TMC. Is the TMC in the new extended format or the old NON dynamically extended format?
You can run TMSBINQ with a control statement of HEADERS or use the CA 1 ISPF screens to determine the format of your TMC. In the output, the VOLSER ranges will be listed. If the report lists the ranges as LOW1, LOW2, etc the TMC is in the old r5.2 format. If it says RANGE 1, RANGE 2 etc. then the TMC is in the new extended format. If the TMC is in the new extended format you must use TMSXTEND program to extend the TMC with new volumes or DSNBs, or to remove volumes or DSNBs.
