The SMPS.log file records error:

Unexpected error in database interface. Error code -1063

Environment

Resolution

This error is generated when the ODBC Data Source Setup for the user directory does not match the ODBC Data Source that is on the Policy Server. If the WAMUI (Admin UI) is not on the same server as the policy server then this value is the ODBC Data Source from the Policy Server not the WAMUI.

The ODBC Data Source on the Policy Server should be setup using the SiteMinder Wire Protocol (as a System DSN) for the database in use.
