Resolution

Setting up CA Jobtrac in a SYSPLEX environment

Requirements:
SYSPLEX (Shared DASD)
Define Primary and Monitors with JOBTRA00 parameters SYNCSYS1/2/3/4/5/6/7
All CA Jobtrac's will use the same token and Different GSSA
XCF for MUF
Each system will have its own ENF

Defining CA Jobtrac r11.0 to run in a SYSPLEX environment means that only one CA Jobtrac is the primary CA Jobtrac and all other CA Jobtrac(s) on the remaining LPARs are designated as monitors. The primary CA Jobtrac submits jobs and the monitor CA Jobtrac(s) can only track jobs. You will need to provide a SYNCSYS1 value equal to the systemid of the system where the primary CA Jobtrac will be running. You will also need to provide a SYNCSYS/2/3 value for each one of your monitors in member JOBTRA00 of your CA Jobtrac PPOPTION library. Each CA Jobtrac will have its own GSSA. The primary CA Jobtrac GSSA will exec program GSSMAIN and the GSSA for the monitor CA Jobtrac(s) will execute program SRVSYS. All these CA Jobtracs must use the same token. ENF must be installed on all of the systems that CA Jobtrac runs on. XCF is required by CA Datacom/AD to communicate between one LPAR and another.
Information on configuring XCF with CA Datacom/AD is provided by CA Datacom/AD Level 1 support. Additional information on setting up the XCF parameters for Datacom/AD can be found in the in the CA Jobtrac Planning and Implementation Guide, Chapter 8, 'Run in a Shared SYSPLEX Environment'.

If you plan to run more than one primary CA Jobtrac on the same system. You will need to do the following.

Requirements:
Each Jobtrac will have it own files
Same MUF or a different MUF
Cannot have the same Jobtrac token or GSSA
Cannot have the same AUTOSCHD character

In a non-shared environment, each CA Jobtrac will have its own MUF or the same MUF. Each CA Jobtrac will need to have different tokens and a different GSSA started task. Only one GSSA will execute program GSSMAIN and the other GSSAs will execute program SRVSYS. ENF must be installed on the system that CA Jobtrac runs on. If you are using CA Jobtrac to track external jobs, then each CA Jobtrac will need to have its own AUTOSCHD character. Additional information on setting up more than one CA Jobtrac to run on the same system can be found in the in the CA Jobtrac Planning and Implementation Guide, Chapter 8, 'Run Multiple STC's on the same CPU'.
