Issue/Introduction

Description

When is the PSWD-VIO field in the CA-ACF2 logonid record reset to zero?

Solution

In rel 14.0 CA-ACF2 will reset the PSWD-VIO counter to zero upon a successful password change or when it is set to zero manually using the ACF command processor. In rel 12.0 CA-ACF2 will reset the PSWD-VIO counter to zero only when it is set manually using the ACF command processor. Otherwise, if a user enters an incorrect password, CA-ACF2 will compare the current date to the date in the PSWD-DAT field (this is the date of the last invalid password). If it is the same date, CA-ACF2 will increment the PSWD-VIO counter by one. If the date is different, then CA-ACF2 will change the PSWD-VIO counter to one.
