In Windows 2008 with IIS 7.0, IIS 6.0 Management Compatibility must be installed as a server role in order to install the Web Viewer.
First, please verify that the Metabase Compatibility component of IIS 7.0 is installed on the machine. This component is not installed by default.
If it is not installed, Use the Server Manager tool, (Start->Administrative Tools->Server Manager), and check the "IIS 6.0 Management Compatibility" component to install it.
This is the procedure to install Web Viewer and correctly configure IIS 7.0 on Windows 2008 Server:
- Install Ca Output Management Web Viewer from CD or .iso file. After doing the basic configuration for CCI and Web Viewer folders and users, perform the IIS Configuration below:
NOTE: The following tasks use the IIS Manager which has two basic panes. The Right Pane of the IIS manager is a List View initially (ICONs, not Report style) The left pane contains a Tree control, which, when expanded, has the following branches:

- Click on Home Node
- Double click on Authentication Icon.
- Ensure that Anonymous and Basic Authentication are enabled.
- Click on Home Node
- Double click on Handler Mappings.
- Ensure ISAPI-dll is enabled.
- Click on Home Node
- Double click on ISAPI and CGI Restrictions.
- Enable ASP (Active Server Pages).
- Add an entry (called Web Viewer) to allow cadocvw.dll - the fully qualified path.
NOTE: The above entry can be eliminated if you click on Edit Feature Settings and click the check box to allow all unspecified ISAPI modules. - Click on Application Pools
- Click on Advanced setting. (on the right)
- Set Enable 32 bit Applications to TRUE.
- Ensure that the Anonymous user (usually IUSR_nodename) has full control in the System Temp directory and has read and execute permissions in the DvWebScripts directory.
