Issue/Introduction

Description

This document explains the cause for ServiceDesk emails being blocked by the exchange server with the " xx/xx 1:3:03.70 xxxxx pdm_mail_nxd 3756 ERROR hunny_mail_intf 1539 ThrdLogger Sess: 2:0:0 Sending mail data failed Error (550) 5.7.1 Missing purported responsible address".

Solution

Note: This problem is specific to Exchange Server.

The problem occurs only after applying service pack 2 for Exchange Server 2003.

Exchange Server Service Pack 2 includes a new Anti-Spam feature which blocks ServiceDesk emails by default.

This is not a ServiceDesk problem and the settings need to be changed on the exchange server to allow ServiceDesk emails.

For more information on Exchange Server service pack 2, visit
