Issue/Introduction

Description:

Openmake Meister 7.2 only allows two ways to start/stop the Knowledge Base Server.

  1. Windows Service or
  2. Windows Start Menu shortcuts (perl scripts) startkb.pl/stopkb.pl

Fresh install of Openmake Meister adds only the Windows Start Menu shortcut to stop/start the Openmake Meister using the perl scripts startkb.pl and stopkb.pl. Once user installs Openmake Meister 7.2 Knowledge Base Server as a Windows Service , then it changes the perl script extensions from *.pl to *.pl.bak and also the renders the shortcut [lnk] to [lnk.bkp].

Solution:

After install Openmake Meister 7.2 Knowledge Base Server as a Windows Service, user can only start/stop the Knowledge Base SErver using the Windows Service "Openmake 7 KB Server".

Also it is recommended to update Openmake Meister configurations as per Install Guide, Page 11, section Knowledge Base Server as a Windows Service. User can actually review further details in ..\meister_Install_dir\kbserver\Win_KB_Service_Cmd.bat [*.txt]. file.
