Issue/Introduction

After changing the date/time backwards on a DSM Agent, CAM would not be able to validate the acknowledgement messages received from DSM server.
After several attempts, these CAM messages get stored in a CAM message queue and after some time, CAM communication breaks down between the agent and the server and all CAM messages are piled up in the queue.

This behavior can be observed by running the 'camstat' command.

The solution is to clear the CAM queue manually by using the command
camq -c -n <IP ADDRESS>

(OR)

recycling CAM as follows:

  • camclose
  • Delete the file C:\Program Files\CA\DSM\appdata\cfnotsrvd.dat
  • cam start -c

Note: DSM and CAM are equipped with a time handling routine and changes caused by daylight saving are catered and managed automatically.
