Description:

During execution of the CA Mainframe Software Manager install script MSMSetup.sh, while waiting for completion of the 1st submitted job, you may be presented with error: EDC5140I Broken Pipe.

Solution:

Either one of two scenerio's can cause this error:

  1. The value set in 'MSMSetupOptionsFile.properties' for the keyword 'JobStatusCheckPollPeriod' is set higher than the 'Maximum FTP Idle time' options for your FTP server. Review your FTP options.
