Issue/Introduction

Yes, Date Simulator can be used to control a simulated date for all of a CICS region. There are two CICS settings: "CICSALL" or "A" for all transactions and "CICS" or "Y" for Transaction-Level warping.

Environment

Release:
Component: TWARP

Resolution

  • Using CICSALL or A

    • via WARPPARM
To warp the date and time for everything in a region, add a WARPPARM step with a control card that includes the CICSALL parameter.
      For example:
       SET JOB CICS33B CICSALL
    • via ISPF dialog
Select Transaction Level = A
    • Using CICS or Y

      • via WARPPARM
To warp the date and time based on criteria, the WARPPARM step's control card would specify the CICS parameter to indicate Transaction-Level warping.
        For example:
        SET JOB CICS33B CICS
      • via ISPF dialog
        Select Transaction Level = Y

Transaction-Level warping uses the DTSM transaction in CICS to specify the names of the transactions, users, and terminals to be warped.
