This document describes the procedure to add the custom schema changes of ServiceDesk to CA ServiceDesk derived universe in BOXI.
Solution:
Note: Before following the procedure, make sure the new schema object(s) have been added to the CA ServiceDesk schema.
To add schema changes to derived universe:
- Open the Business Objects Designer, and import the derived universe to a local file system as follows:
- Select File, Import from the Designer menu. The Universe Successfully Imported dialog box appears.
- Click OK. Figure 1.1, 1.2

- Select View->Refresh Structure from the Designer menu
- A question "Do you want to refresh the out of date columns in selected tables?" Figure 2

- Click on OK.
- A dialog box with message "Refresh Structure: The structure has been successfully modified" appears. Figure 3

- New objects or columns added to the schema are available on the right side of the window. In this example a new column zRisk was added to the chg object Figure 4

- Expand the Change class on the left hand side window. Drag and drop the updated chg object from the right hand side window to left hand side window under Change class. Figure 5

- Click on File->Save to save the changes.
- To make the changes available for universe users, export the universe to CMS. Select File->Export from the designer menu.
- In the Export Universe menu click on OK. A dialog box with "Universe successfully exported message appears". Figure 6

- In the Designer Menu, select Tools->Check Integrity, in the dialog box that appears, select Parse Objects check box. Figure 7

- Click OK to start the integrity check.
- No parse errors should be reported. If errors are found the objects need to be modified on the left hand pane so that they do not produce parse errors. Figure 8

- From the Designer menu, select File->Export
- In the Domain drop down, select CA Customer Universes. Figure 9

- Click on Ok to export the universe to CMS.
